HLRN Cray User Workshop Announcement

"Cray XC30 User Workshop"

Date and Place

19-22 January 2015 in Hannover at RRZN

Overview

A workshop on Using the Cray XC30 System is organized by HLRN and Cray Inc. The second phase of the HLRN-III system presumably will go into regular operation some weeks before the workshop. Focus will be on programming environment, development, and performance analysis as well as porting existing codes for the Cray XC30 architecture, in particular with regard to new hardware and new software releases which come with the second phase. The workshop includes a mixture of lectures and practical sessions on the HLRN-III system. Example exercises will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring along their own applications to the workshop. Workshop participants should also bring their own laptop for the hands-on sessions on the XC30.

Who Should Attend

The workshop mainly aims at the HLRN consultants. Also invited are interested experienced HLRN users, that themselves develop, optimize, and port big codes, and that are able to transfer their newly gained knowledge to their own working groups.
